Provinsen Padua ligger i den norditalienske region Veneto. Mod nord grænser den op til provinsen Treviso, mod øst til provinsen Venedig, mod syd til provinsen Rovigo og mod vest til provinserne Verona og Vicenza.
Mod syd danner floden Adige for en stor del en naturlig grænse med provinsen Rovigo. Mod øst ligger den gamle vulkangruppe Colli Euganei. Området er rigt på termiske kilder og har mange kursteder. Abano Terme er i denne henseende den vigtigste by.
