Bolzano/Bozen er hovedstaden i Sydtyrol, i den autonome region Trentino – Sydtyrol. Det ligger på den sydlige skråning af Alperne. Det grænser op til kommunerne Eppan an der Weinstraße, Karneid, Laives, Deutschnofen, Ritten, Jenesien, Terlan og Vadena.
Befolkningen i byen var i 2006 99.007 indbyggere. Den ligger i en højde af 265 m og dækker et område på 52,34 km². Befolkningen taler 73% italiensk, 26% tysk og 1% ladin.
