Echt er en lille by i kommunen Echt-Susteren, provinsen Limburg. Stedet har 14.675 indbyggere og et areal på ca. 75,13 km². Allerede i det 7. århundrede er Echt kendt som landsby, dengang tilhørende Grevskabet Loon. Mellem 928 og 939 giver Gerberga af Sachsen, datter af Henrik Fugl, søster til den senere kejser Otto I og gift med hertug Giselbert II af Lothringen, villaen Echt og kirken der til Skt. Servaas Kirke i Maastricht. Indtægterne fra villaen og kirken indgik i prebenderne af de til den kirke tilknyttede kanikker.
