Rotterdam-Syd omfatter den del af Rotterdam, der ligger syd for Nieuwe Maas. Rotterdam-Syd har, med de administrative kommissionsområder Charlois, Feijenoord og IJsselmonde, cirka 240.000 indbyggere. Traditionelt taler man om "op Syd". Oprindeligt var bydelene kun forbundet med hinanden via broer til Nordøen. I øvrigt var man afhængig af færger. Senere kom Maastunnelen i 1942, og i midten af 1960'erne den første Van Brienenoordbro. Senere forbindelser blev Willemsbroen og Erasmusbroen. Efter at Erasmusbroen blev færdigbygget i 1996, er udviklingen i Rotterdam-Syd sket hurtigt. Blandt andet takket være ankomsten af Kommunen Rotterdam, Havneselskabet, Skatteforvaltningen, Domstolen, Hogeschool InHolland, Deloitte og AKD er Kop van Zuid blevet et forretningsområde.
