Im Jahr 1949 wurde eine Statue von Santiago Apóstol erworben, als Schutzpatron der gleichnamigen Fischerbruderschaft , die in El Puertito de Güíma existierte
Die Statue wurde in der Kirche San Pedro Apóstol vom Pfarrer und Erzpriester von Güímar, Don Matías Batista Díaz, gesegnet und dann in einer Prozession nach El Puertito getragen. Am 25. desselben Monats wurde das erste Fest gefeiert , das sowohl in diesem Jahr als auch in den Folgejahren an einem dafür hergerichteten Ort abgehalten wurde
Im Juli 1952 wurde die Statue der Jungfrau von Carmen von demselben Priester gesegnet.
Die Kapelle wurde auf einem vom Arzt Don Radamés Polegre Socas und seiner Frau Doña Ángeles García Fumero gespendeten Grundstück errichtet und 1953 vom Pfarrer und Erzpriester von Güímar, Don Matías Batista Díaz, gesegnet . Die Uhr wurde 1956 gekauft und ein Bild des Gekreuzigten 1957. 1966 wurde die Pfarrei Santiago Apóstol gegründet…
