Das Friedengericht taucht dich sofort in die Konfliktsphäre des Ersten Weltkriegs ein. In diesem Gebäude wurden vom 19. Jahrhundert bis heute zivilrechtliche Konflikte ausgetragen. Du kannst den Sitzungssaal des Friedengerichts besuchen, kannst die spezifischen Eigenschaften des Gebäudes kennenlernen und einige aufsehenerregende Rechtsfälle betrachten.
Im Ersten Weltkrieg errichtete die deutsche Besatzung ihre Kommandantur im Friedengericht. Von diesem Gebäude aus gab der deutsche Kommandant seine Forderungen an das Volk von Meetjesland weiter.
