Der Weg, auf dem du jetzt wandelst, ist der 'Römische Kassei': die Heerstraße, die einst Tongeren mit Tienen verband. Gehe höher und schaue dir die archäologische Kunst im Grasland an. An diesem Ort stellte der Künstler Hans Lemmen fünf terrakottafarbene Betonsitzbänke auf. Die Bank hat die Grundform einer römischen Villa. Auf der Rückseite jeder Bank befindet sich der Grundriss einer der ausgegrabenen Villen in der Nähe; wie die Villa von Sassenbroek, die nur 1 Kilometer von hier entfernt ist. Diese Villen waren eigentlich landwirtschaftliche Betriebe von 50 bis 80 Hektar groß. Setze dich kurz neben den Römer auf die Bank und genieße den atemberaubenden Blick über diese römische Landschaft.
