Es war eine Premiere: Noorderkroon-Achel präsentierte als erster belgischer Verein einen echten Planetenweg. Alles sorgfältig berechnet und maßstabsgetreu angelegt.
Die erste Ausführung bestand aus Plexiglasplatten, dazwischen kunstvoll gezeichnete Planeten. Wir haben das Glück, einen sehr fähigen und kunstvollen Zeichner in unseren Reihen zu haben. Job Beeren hat bereits dreimal den gesamten Planetenweg gezeichnet und gemalt. Zweimal mussten wir den gesamten Planetenweg aufgrund von Vandalismus reparieren. Derzeit bestehen die Paneele aus schlagfestem Kunststoff. Der Technische Dienst der Stadtverwaltung Hamont-Achel hat alle Himmelskörper ausgefräst, und Job Beeren hat die Bilder so realistisch wie möglich mit speziellen Lacken koloriert. Die letzte Ausführung ist ein Volltreffer; wunderschön gemalte Paneele, die praktisch wartungsfrei sind.
