Ein anderes Tier, das vom Moorrückgewinnungsprojekt profitiert, ist der Baumfrosch. Diese Amphibienart war einst in dieser moorreichen Gegend weit verbreitet. In den 50er und 60er Jahren wurde es ruhig um diesen besonderen Frosch. Die Hauptursachen waren das Trockenlegen von Mooren und das Entfernen von Röhricht, Sträuchern und Tümpeln. Glücklicherweise ist er also jetzt auf dem Vormarsch. Der Baumfrosch verdankt seinen Namen den Saugknöpfchen an seinen Beinen, mit denen er im Gegensatz zu anderen einheimischen Amphibienarten in Sträucher und niedrige Bäume klettern kann.
