Schleswig ist eine Mittelstadt in Schleswig-Holstein am Ende der langgezogenen Ostseebucht Schlei. Sie ist Kreisstadt des Kreises Schleswig-Flensburg, ehemalige Hauptstadt des Herzogtums Schleswig und wird auch als Justizhauptstadt des Landes bezeichnet, da sie – aus historischen Gründen – Sitz des Landesverfassungsgerichtes sowie drei weiterer Obergerichte und der Generalstaatsanwaltschaft ist.
