Das Gemeindegebiet von Jagel liegt im Bereich der weiträumigen Sanderflächen der naturräumlichen Haupteinheit Schleswiger Vorgeest am zerklüfteten Übergang zum Bereich des östlich daran anschließenden Naturraums Schleswig-Holsteinisches Hügelland. Die geologische Karte verzeichnet im Gemeindegebiet die vermutete äußerste Grenze der weichselkaltzeitlichen Vergletscherung.
