Oftersheim ist eine Gemeinde im Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg in der Nähe von Heidelberg mit etwa 12.000 Einwohnern. Oftersheim bildet mit der Nachbarstadt Schwetzingen ein zusammenhängendes Stadtgebiet und ist ein Teil der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar, eines Ballungsraums mit 2,4 Millionen Einwohnern. Das im Jahr 766 erstmals schriftlich im Lorscher Codex erwähnte Oftersheim gehörte jahrhundertelang zur Kurpfalz.
