Weinstadt ist eine Stadt etwa 15 km östlich von Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. Sie gehört zur Region Stuttgart und zur europäischen Metropolregion Stuttgart. Die erst im Rahmen der Gebietsreform zum 1. Januar 1975 neu gebildete Gemeinde ist seit dem 9. März 1976 eine Stadt und seit dem 1. Januar 1979 eine Große Kreisstadt. Heute ist sie die sechstgrößte Stadt des Rems-Murr-Kreises und bildet ein Unterzentrum im Mittelbereich Waiblingen/Fellbach.
