Kandern liegt im Südwesten Deutschlands, am Fuße des Schwarzwaldes. Nördlich von Kandern stellt der Berg Blauen das Ende des Kandertals dar, hier liegt auch die Quelle der Kander. Unweit der Quelle führt der Lipplepass ins Kleine Wiesental nach Tegernau.
Im Uhrzeigersinn : Malsburg-Marzell, Steinen, Lörrach, Wittlingen, Rümmingen, Schallbach, Efringen-Kirchen, Bad Bellingen und Schliengen.
