Eidengesäß ist neben Altenhaßlau, Großenhausen , Geislitz und Lützelhausen einer der fünf Ortsteile der Gemeinde Linsengericht im hessischen Main-Kinzig-Kreis. Eidengesäß liegt 220 m über NN und 4,2 km südöstlich von Gelnhausen am Haßelbach.
Die älteste bekannte schriftliche Erwähnung von Ytzengesesse erfolgte im Jahr 1288 in einer Urkunde der Grafschaft Hanau. In erhaltenen Urkunden wurde der Ort später unter den folgenden Namen erwähnt : Idengesesze und Eidengeses .
