Das Märkische Viertel in Berlin ist eine Großwohnsiedlung, Satelliten- oder Trabantenstadt im Bezirk Reinickendorf. Die Siedlung wurde von 1963 bis Frühjahr 1974 gebaut und war mit ihren rund 17.000 Wohnungen für bis zu 50.000 Bewohner ausgelegt. Seit Juni 1999 ist das Märkische Viertel ein Ortsteil des Bezirks Reinickendorf . Davor gehörte es zum Ortsteil Wittenau. Das Märkische Viertel ist nach der ehemaligen Mark Brandenburg benannt.
Neben dem Märkischen Viertel entstanden in West-Berlin zwei weitere Großwohnsiedlungen: die etwa gleich große Gropiusstadt im Bezirk Neukölln und das etwas kleinere Falkenhagener Feld . In Ost-Berlin entstanden etwas später Großbausiedlungen in Hohenschönhausen , Marzahn und Hellersdorf . Gemeinsam ist allen ihre Stadtrandlage.
