Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach war ein ernestinisches Herzogtum im heutigen Thüringen und ein Territorium des Heiligen Römischen Reiches. Die Hauptstadt war Weimar. Es entstand 1741, als das Herzogtum Sachsen-Eisenach an das Herzogtum Sachsen-Weimar fiel. 1809 wurden Sachsen-Eisenach und Sachsen-Weimar unter Herzog Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach per Verfassung auch staatsrechtlich zum Herzogtum Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach vereinigt, regiert vom Haus Sachsen-Weimar.
Auf dem Wiener Kongress erlangte das Herzogtum 1815 den Status eines Großherzogtums. Es wurde 1867 Bundesstaat des Norddeutschen Bundes und ab 1871 des Deutschen Reichs; ab 1903 bezeichnete es sich als Großherzogtum Sachsen.
