Die Geschichte der Region reicht bis in die vorrömische Zeit zurück. Das heutige Dorf entstand im zweiten Teil des 19. Jahrhunderts aus dem Zusammenschluss mehrerer kleiner Weiler. Bis 1921 war es Teil der Gemeinde Aguilar de la Frontera und wurde dann unter dem Namen Zapateros eine eigene Gemeinde. Kurz nach der Gemeindegründung wurde Zapateros in Moriles umbenannt.
