Der Putsch vom 23. Februar 1981 war ein missglückter Versuch von Teilen der Guardia Civil und des Militärs, die Demokratie in Spanien zu beenden und eine neuerliche Diktatur zu errichten. In Spanien wird er umgangssprachlich 23-F für das Datum oder auch El Tejerazo nach einem der Beteiligten genannt.
Ursache war die Frustration von Teilen der Armee und der Anhänger Francisco Francos über die seit dem Tod des Diktators im Rahmen der Transición in Spanien in Gang gekommenen Reformen hin zu einem modernen, demokratischen Rechtsstaat, über die wirtschaftliche Lage des Landes und über das Terrorismusproblem.
