Cernay ist eine französische Stadt mit 11.476 Einwohnern im Département Haut-Rhin in der Europäischen Gebietskörperschaft Elsass und in der Region Grand Est. Sie gehört zum Arrondissement Thann-Guebwiller und ist Hauptort des Kantons Cernay.
Cernay liegt am Flüsschen Thur, an der Ostflanke der Vogesen. Bei Cernay kreuzen sich die Nationalstraßen 66 und 83 . Nach Thann in der Nachbarschaft sind es sechs Kilometer, nach Mülhausen 18 und nach Belfort 35 Kilometer.
