Dies ist die sechste Etappe des Via Tolonensis, in Frankreich auch als GR653 bezeichnet, einer der vier Hauptwege aus Frankreich nach Santiago de Compostela. Die Route führt von Arles über Montpellier, Castres und Toulouse zum Col de Somport, wo sie sich mit den spanischen Caminos verbindet.
Die Etappe von Montpellier nach Montarnaud ist über 20 km lang und mit den bekannten rot-weißen Zeichen markiert.
