Das Arundel Castle war der Sitz des Herzogs von Norfolk. Einer von ihnen war der 11. Herzog von Norfolk, Charles Howard, der buchstäblich ein echter reicher stinkender Mensch war. Er roch so schlimm, dass seine Diener ihn betrunken gefüttert haben, um ihn zu waschen. Er wurde auch der Dirty Duke genannt. Norfolk starb am 16. Dezember 1815 im Alter von 69 Jahren.
