Alne ist ein Dorf und eine Gemeinde im Hambleton-Distrikt von North Yorkshire, England, etwa zwölf Meilen nordwestlich von York und vier Meilen von Easingwold entfernt. Die Gemeinde hat eine Bevölkerung von 711, die sich bei der Volkszählung 2011 auf 756 erhöhte.
Das Dorf wird im Domesday Book als Teil des Bulford Hundred genannt und gehörte der Kirche St. Peter in York. Der Name könnte von dem lateinischen Wort Alnus für Erle abgeleitet sein, da das Dorf von diesen Bäumen umgeben war. Der Name könnte auch von einem Flussnamen des Typs Alaunā abgeleitet sein, der vom brittonischen al-, "hell, glänzend" stammt. Dies könnte ein alternativer Name für den Fluss Kyle gewesen sein.
