Edwinstowe ist ein Dorf im Sherwood Forest, im Norden der englischen Grafschaft Nottinghamshire. Sein Name bedeutet im Deutschen so viel wie „Edwins Ruhestätte“. Dies ist zurückzuführen auf die Tatsache, dass der Leichnam des angelsächsischen Königs und Heiligen Edwin in der Kirche des Dorfes versteckt wurde, nachdem er am 12. Oktober 633 in der Schlacht von Hatfield Chase nahe Doncaster fiel.
