Allerona ist eine italienische Gemeinde mit 1722 Einwohnern in der Provinz Terni in der Region Umbrien und ist Mitglied der Vereinigung I borghi più belli d’Italia .

Die Gemeinde erstreckt sich über rund 82 km². Sie liegt etwa 50 km südwestlich von Perugia und rund 60 km nordwestlich von Terni auf einem Hügel etwa 20 km nordwestlich von Orvieto, am Berührungspunkt der Regionen Umbrien, Latium und Toskana. Der Ort gehört zur Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Comunità montana Monte Peglia e Selva di Meana. Durch den Ort führten die alten Römerstraßen Via Cassia und Via Traiana Nova, der Ort selbst wurde durch das Haupttor Porta del Sole betreten. Der Ortsteil Allerona Scalo liegt an der Paglia. Neben den offiziellen Ortsteilen Allerona Scalo und Palombara existieren noch verschiedene Borghi wie San Nicolò della Meana und San Pietro Acquaeortus .
