Die Kathedrale von Neapel ist die Hauptkirche von Neapel, die der Himmelfahrt Mariä geweiht ist. Außerdem werden hier die Reliquien von San Gennaro , dem Stadtpatron von Neapel, aufbewahrt, weshalb sie auch als Duomo di San Gennaro bekannt ist.
Zur Kathedrale gehören einige bedeutende Räumlichkeiten, die als eigenständige Strukturen angesehen werden: die berühmte Cappella del tesoro di San Gennaro , wo jedes Jahr das Blutwunder des heiligen Januarius zelebriert wird, und die Basilica di Santa Restituta mit den Überresten des spätantiken Battistero di San Giovanni in fonte. Unter der Kathedrale wurden außerdem Relikte aus römischer und griechischer Zeit gefunden.
