Die Dolomiten, italienisch Dolomiti, ladinisch Dolomites, sind eine Gebirgsgruppe der Südlichen Kalkalpen, werden aber auch den Südalpen zugerechnet. Sie verteilen sich auf die Regionen Venetien und Trentino-Südtirol in Italien bzw. – zu etwa gleichen Teilen – auf die Provinzen Belluno, Bozen – Südtirol und Trient. Seit 2009 gehören Teile der Dolomiten zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe Dolomiten. Sprachlich ist die Region durch deutsch- und italienischsprachige Gebiete charakterisiert, wozu noch eine kleinere Gruppe Ladiner kommt.
