Die mächtige Burg (elftes Jahrhundert) in Larochette, auf einem vorspringenden Felsen, dominiert das Tal der Ernz Blanche. Bei Larochette geht auch etwas ganz anderes vor sich. Es macht sich bemerkbar, wenn man den gemütlichen Platz, die Bleiche, entlangfährt, oder noch besser, dort anhält und den Helm abnimmt. Der Platz wurde in ein regelrechtes Diskussionsforum verwandelt. Eine Szene, die man in einem südlichen Land erwarten würde, aber nicht hier! Die Erklärung findet sich in der Bevölkerung: Mehr als die Hälfte der Einwohner von Larochette sind portugiesischer oder kapverdischer Herkunft.
