Die Bachtallandschaft von Mittel-Limburg ist durch ein Bachtal gekennzeichnet. Ein Bachtal ist ein tiefer gelegenes Gebiet im Decksandgebiet der Niederlande, durch das ein Bach fließt. Solche Täler müssen genau von Flusstälern unterschieden werden, was an der Bodentyp möglich ist. Bachtäler sind schmaler als Flusstäler und der Talboden geneigt sich leicht in Richtung des Baches.
