Auf Initiative von Pfarrer Verbunt wurde Ende 1943 beschlossen, diese Kapelle zu bauen, um während des Krieges vor den Katastrophen geschützt zu bleiben und den Frieden zu erlangen. Sie verdankt ihren Namen der Tatsache, dass Maria in Fatima gesagt hat, dass die Menschen für den Frieden beten sollten. Die gesamte Gemeinde Kaarschot sammelte Mittel dafür. Da keine neuen Steine zur Verfügung standen, wurden die Steine des alten Kirchwegs verwendet. Am 14. Mai 1944 wurde diese Kapelle von Pfarrer Verbunt eingeweiht.
