Slussen ist ursprünglich der Name einer großen Schleuse zwischen den Stadtteilen Gamla Stan und Södermalm in Stockholm. Sie bildet gleichzeitig den Übergang zwischen dem Mälarsee und der Ostsee. Direkt südlich von Slussen befindet sich die niederländische Botschaft.
Heutzutage wird oft auch der belebte Verkehrsknotenpunkt damit gemeint. Der Knotenpunkt hat einen schlechten Ruf unter den Stockholmern, und es gibt auch Hinweise darauf, dass die Struktur des Komplexes sich verschlechtert. Aus diesem Grund gibt es Pläne, Slussen komplett zu renovieren.
