Vresse-sur-Semois is the most forested municipality in Belgium. It borders the French border and is just a two-hour drive from the center of power in Brussels. A trip to Namur also takes more than an hour. The twelve districts that make it up have names that hold promises or raise questions. They are called Laforêt and Pussemange, but also Nafraiture, Membre, Bagimont, and Orchimont. They cover an area of 101 square kilometers. The small village centers are just dots in a sea of green. For this is the most forested municipality in the country, with no less than 72.8 percent of its territory belonging to bark and leaf. Along the green banks in the valley, the Semois winds wide and glittering past the many campsites, terraces, and places where you can rent kayaks. Every year, masses of tourists come to the many gîtes and small hotels in this region.
