Once out of the Bremweide, the landscape abruptly ends in a northern direction at the height of the Bisschoppenhoflaan. The only green zone is that at the Bijkhoeve. The valley of the Kleine Schijn behind it is completely hardened, and there is no room for nature anymore. The connection with the green areas in Schoten is interrupted by industrial activity and the Albert Canal. Restoring this connection could provide significant added value from both ecological and recreational perspectives. It is one of the focal points that future infrastructure projects in this area should pay necessary attention to, as they are crucial for the green structure in and around Antwerp.
