Thirsty from all that walking? End your walk at Brasserie 't Vertier.
't Vertier and the adjacent hall Victorie date back to the early 19th century. Over the years, it has served as a café and an important home for local associations.
Today it is a brasserie, where in the spring, among other things, hop shoots are on the menu.

Café Vertier was formerly known as Ons Huis and was especially popular among more left-leaning, 'red' café-goers. The hall was known as 'de Roeë Zaul'. Associations that had their clubhouse there included TK Meldert, Fanfare Sint-Cecilia, and cycling club De Bergbeklimmers.
Typical café sports were also played by various associations: WTC De Faluintjes ended their bike rides in the café, card players' club 't Huis Weg considered the café as a second living room, and shooting association Bock en Lambik had two standing seesaws in the garden.
