The town of La Roche-en-Ardenne is picturesque, situated on the banks of the Ourthe, which has carved its deep valley into the surrounding hilly landscape in two wide curves. The castle complex towering over the town was initially a Neolithic settlement, then a city fortification, later a Roman fortress, and finally the feudal castle of the Frankish kings. Due to La Roche's beautiful location, both hikers and cyclists as well as canoeists find a great selection of opportunities here. The described hike follows the marking No. 6 to the places Maboge, Borzée, and back to La Roche, and delights with beautiful views of the castle ruins and the Ourthe valley.
