Remarkably, the Hainuyère commune of Écaussinnes has as many castles as entities. In the past, the town also had some breweries that have now disappeared. A few years ago, young enthusiasts started hops and malt. Today, the Scåssenes brewery – the name of the municipality in local dialect – puts Écaussinnes back on the menu of great Belgian beers.
