From Trin Mulin bus stop to Valendas-Sagogn train station.

 

A beautiful hike through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. The Rhine Gorge (Ruinaulta) lies on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Sardona Tecnical Arena, a spectacular landscape formed by a prehistoric landslide.

The first part of the walk involves a steep descent to the Rhine, but it is safe and doable.

You cross the Rhine via a railway bridge with a pedestrian area. Then, follow the path alongside the Rhine, with a few climbs, to the Valendas-Sagogn train station: sometimes along the bank, sometimes on a high-altitude path.

From here, you can take the train to Ilanz. From there, there are buses to your starting point.
