Lake Baldeney is the largest of six reservoirs in Germany's Ruhr River. The lake is located south of the city of Essen, between the districts of Werden, Bredeney, Heisingen, Kupferdreh and Fischlaken. The dam is maintained by the Ruhrverband. Electricity is generated by means of turbines.
