On two wheels and on foot, 07/2023

The ambitious plan of the Prince-Bishops of Münster, Clemens-August of Bavaria and Max-Friedrich von Königsegg Rothenfels, to create a shipping link from Münster to the waterway network of the Netherlands all the way to the North Sea, remained unfinished.

Today, the canal offers one thing above all: driving and hiking fun on roads with little traffic with many highlights. Learn all about the eventful history of the canal at seven information stations along the way through the district of Steinfurt and soon also at five information stations in the city of Münster. Let's go!
