Description by the author

The rural municipality of Diensdorf-Radlow, the lively municipality of Wendisch Rietz and the almost sophisticated municipality of Bad Saarow: there is something for everyone on this route. The Drei-Seen-Tour of three lakes takes you around Lake Scharmützelsee and Lake Storkower See. The wonderfully still Lake Großer Glubigsee is an added attraction. Bad Saarow is the centre of the holiday region as it were, famous above all for its healing thermal spring. Day trippers will encounter stylish villas everywhere, some with extravagant architecture. Celebrities have been coming to the summer resort for over 100 years, including big names such as box legend Max Schmeling or film star Käthe Dorsch. Before cycle paths were even conceived, the German novelist and poet Theodor Fontane enthused about Lake Scharmützelsee, calling it the “Märkisches Meer”, the Mark Brandenburg sea.
Variety is guaranteed throughout the tour. There is an outdoor ropes course in Bad Saarow and a restored castle in Storkow. Or round off your day of cycling with a visit to the SaarowTherme thermal baths. But that is actually the narrative for the next trip.Length: 49 kilometresStart / finish: Storkow (Mark)Logo / route sign: black framed square with a grey bicycle in the background.
