Due to the total length of 32 km, the hiking trail can alternatively be hiked on a northern route (15.5 km) and a southern route (16.5 km). Particularly worth seeing/visiting on the northern route are the Butterberg with its viewing tower, the animal and cultural park and the old market square in Bischofswerda. Both routes offer beautiful views of the surrounding area.
