Description by the author

Essen is a West German city located approximately 34 kilometers northeast of Düsseldorf centrally in the Ruhrgebiet. The center of Essen is almost completely car-free and that makes walking around the city center very easy and relaxing. The many sights that Essen has to offer will all be visited during the walk, including the Essen Cathedral, the Alte Synagogue and the RWE-Turm. A day at Essen is therefore certainly not a hassle.
