During World War II, writer and Nobel Proze winner, Ernest Hemingway could be found frequently on a bar stool at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. Having a bit of an alcohol problem, he gulped down quite some Bloody Marys here. The bar is named after him: Bar Hemingway. He was the author of 'The old man and the sea'. The legend says that Heminway threw out some 'brown shirts' by the end of the war. The writer once said of the Ritz-bar: "I dream about my afterlife, somewhere in heaven, and the action always takes place at the Ritz in Paris.
