Castell Carreg Cennen makes a dramatic starting point particularly on a slightly sombre day. It will stay in view for a large part of the hike. The route is waymarked with 'red castle' markers. Yellow markers indicate a shorter route. There is a shop, a cafetaria and toilets at the start (and the end) of the walk.
