C. Jochems and Jac Martens came up with the idea of building a chapel nearby, as protection against the danger of war. A collection was held that raised several hundred guilders. Construction began in 1942 and on 15 September 1942 the chapel was consecrated to Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows by Father Verbunt.
This chapel is located on the former tram track.
