In the streetpattern of Washington is a very distinct pattern of a pentagram, one of the many symbols of the Freemasons.

The architect, Pierre Charles L'Enfante, who was a Freemason, laid out Governmental Center of Washington, D.C., in 1791.

The top of the (upside-down) pentagram brings you to the White House. The route brings you along many other monuments and persons linked to the Masonic movement.
