El Père-Lachaise de Gante. Así se llama a veces el Campo Santo en la calle Visitatiestraat en Sint-Amandsberg. Este apodo se debe al hecho de que escultores, pintores, escritores y otras celebridades, tanto católicas como liberales, encontraron su último lugar de descanso en esta colina de diecinueve metros de altura, que lleva el nombre de un cementerio en Roma. En el siglo VII, el santo Amando predicó aquí, y la capilla de estilo barroco tardío en el punto más alto está dedicada a él. Los árboles que se encuentran allí han sido testigos de la primera ceremonia funeraria que tuvo lugar aquí en 1847. Wilfried Martens es el vecino eterno de Gustave y Karel Van de Woestijne, Frans Masereel, Jan Frans Willems, Filip De Pillecijn, Marc Sleen, Jan Hoet y Luc De Vos.
