El campo de lúpulo se estableció en 2010 por iniciativa de Joris Vanderveken, Edwin Fabri y Willy Marivoet, en colaboración con el municipio de Asse y la provincia de Brabante Flamenco.
Se encuentra en un terreno donde hace décadas también se cultivaba lúpulo.
Entre las vides de lúpulo se encuentra la obra de arte de Peter Schoutsen, lo que permite que el sitio sea reconocido como un elemento paisajístico.
La cosecha de este campo de lúpulo se utiliza, entre otras cosas, para adornar carrozas en la procesión de hopduvel durante las fiestas del hopduvel en Asse.
