Esta antigua galería minera rectilínea cuya longitud alcanza 1,5 km, fue excavada a mediados del siglo XIX, en la roca, bajo el actual cementerio de Robermont. Debía permitir la explotación de los filones de carbón que, sin embargo, habían sido objeto de actividades de extracción desde mucho antes. Además de su valor arqueológico, el sitio presenta un interés cierto desde el punto de vista geológico, sísmico y también biológico, ya que alberga varias especies cavernícolas.
Acceso público: El acceso a la galería está regulado: solo se permiten visitas con fines científicos y pedagógicos, exclusivamente con el acuerdo del comité de gestión del sitio. No se tolera ninguna explotación turística.
