La gran obra, Vacas camino a la branquial es de Florent Crabeels, otro renovador de la pintura del siglo XIX. Crabeels es conocido como el pintor de la luz y Pol De Mont lo llamó 'nuestro primer luminista belga'. La parte posterior muestra la obra El campo de carbón, una obra en la que la luz también domina. Tenía una gran amistad con Heymans, diez años más joven pero muy influenciado por él. Crabeels vivía en una parte de la casa de Janneke 'Tijs' Van de Voet, (al puente sobre la autovía) un agricultor soltero (foto en el panel).
